If you are looking for a strong choice in air bikes, stay on this page and read this review.

The Rogue Echo Bike is a great one, and I find it to be a great fit for athletes of all skill levels.

This bike marks a big step for Rogue Fitness Equipment. It is their first attempt at creating a line of conditioning machines.

This bike gets you the best of top bikes like Schwinn Airdyne and Assault Airbike, which in turn creates what I believe to be the best bike out there today.

Rogue Echo Quick Look

A quick video demo and look at the Rogue Echo.

At the time of this writing, the asking price for the bike was $775.

I recommend you buy this right from their website, as you get the best price, the Rogue site is secure, and the shipping is fast and easy.

Assault Air Bike V. Rogue Echo Bike

Rogue Echo Bike vs Assault Air Bike

So far as I know, the Assault Air Bike has been people’s go-to when it comes to these types of cycles. I mean, it’s a nice bike, but I personally go for Schwinn AD Pro myself, but the Assault Air Bike tends to be the one you find in gyms and training facilities across the country.

So, where does the difference lie?

We will get into this a bit later on, but it is the drive system that really makes the difference.

The Assault Air Bike uses the drive system that’s been in place since the Schwinn Airdyne was first made, which is a chain-drive system. Meanwhile, Rogue Echo Bike makes use of the same drive system as the Schwinn Airdyne Pro, which uses a belt-driven system.

The Echo Bike definitely has some weight to it, and this is something I can appreciate, especially as somebody who likes to go hard and doesn’t want to risk falling over or the machine falling apart.

That being said, those of you with limited training space may find some woes in the fact that this thing takes up more space than the Assault Air Bike.

All that aside, it is not a massive amount of extra space, and it would only matter if you were setting it up, in say, a very tight space like an apartment.

If this is the case, I highly suggest looking at a different bike model.

The bike comes in one color and reminds me of the day we learned about Ford in school; “You can have it any color you want as long as it’s black.”

The bike comes in the Rogue Fitness Equipment’s classic black powder-coated but sharp looking finish.

It fits right in at your home gym or garage with no clashing, and 10 years from now, when you’re still pedaling on it, it’s not going to look outdated and useless. That being said, I noticed a few scuffs and marks appearing thanks to this finish, so do keep that in mind – it’s just normal wear and tear.

So yeah – up till this point, I thought the Assault Air Bike was the king of these cycles, but once I met the Rogue Echo Bike, I was pretty much sold. I think the only reason I would tell you to buy an Assault Air Bike at this point is A. You’re set on the brand, and you’re not changing your mind or B.

You’re a Crossfitter and you want to use the exact bike as they do in the Crossfit Games. (Hey but keep this in mind-Rogue Fitness is now sponsoring the Crossfit Games so….)

My In-Depth Review of Rogue Echo Bike

rogue echo bike in action

I mentioned this is the first piece of conditioning equipment that Rogue Fitness has made, and man, they really did an excellent job. Yes, they made sleds, yes, they made plyo boxes, which we need when conditioning, but this is the first machine they ever came up with to help athletes’ condition.

This decision is HUGE and was, no doubt, a significant financial risk for the company. But it paid off.

Before they made this air bike, they stuck to a formula of producing high-quality fitness equipment for the purpose of strength training. When you go onto their store, you see all of their equipment for sale but also their competitors’ stuff, too.

After all, companies that made conditioning equipment didn’t have to be concerned until recently – companies like LifeCore, TrueForm, and more were firmly ensconced in the market and could even thank Rogue Fitness for getting them some publicity.

Even though this Rogue Echo Bike marks a huge success for the company, I do not foresee them being direct competitors with some of these companies. That being said, if they continue to make this great equipment, and branch out to make things like treadmills, that could all change.

I can’t stress enough how strong of a start they made with this super great bike. The Rogue Echo Bike is a cycle that comes in at a very fair price, is of superior construction, and is designed for extreme training by athletes of all levels, whether they are elite or casual.

The innovation, quality, and price are going to rocket this company to greater success.

No matter where you go, you are going to find that most others will compare this thing to the Assault Air Bike. However, I want to compare it to the Schwinn Airdyne Pro.

After all, I really love the Schwinn Airdyne Pro and continue to even after having used this amazing Rogue bike.

However, I believe the Rogue Echo Bike still comes out on top, mostly because of the pricing.

The reason they are worth comparing is because of their belt-driven mechanisms. Every air bike ever manufactured up to the Schwinn Airdyne Pro made use of a chain-driven system.

Things You Need To Know About The Rogue Echo

Chain drives are known to be inefficient when it comes to energy, as there is a gap between pedaling and making the fan spin. They need to be lubed up and adjusted and they are louder than the newer belt drive mechanisms.

The belt drive, as used by the Rogue Fitness Company, is similar to what you find in cars and trucks.

These belts are able to stand up to the toughest conditions, and they are quiet as a mouse. When I was using the Rogue Echo Bike for the first time, it just sounded like a large fan was running as the wind hit the blades. It is a common sound to hear in a gym anyway, so not a big deal at all.

The fact that it makes so little noise is just unbelievable. After all, there is a LOT of metal that goes into the manufacture of this cycle.

When I was using other bikes like the Schwinn Airdyne AD4 or Assault Air Bike, I attributed their noisiness to the metal construction.

However, the Rogue Echo Bike really stands out in that it is basically ALL metal but makes NO sound at all.

The metal build of the bike makes it a heavyweight. But at the same time, it is still easy to move around when you are carrying it from one side of the garage, the gym floor, or whatever. Why is this? Well, it is the weight placement.

Yes, the bike weighs in at 145 lbs., but this means it is built to handle ALL the wear and tear you put on it.

For reference, the Assault Air Bike weighing in at 98 lbs. makes it seem like a kid’s tricycle!

Another cool thing I noticed about the Rogue Echo Bike is the fan blades. Instead of being made with a bike rim with blades attached or plastic blades on a metal spine, the Rogue has made use of steel, cut out fan blades, powder coated them, and then weld them onto a hub located within the fan cage.

It’s not necessary but looks fantastic and helps keep the fan from failing.

I would also like to talk about the footpegs, too. These are on basically every air bike you will buy and are reserved for those times you are working arms only.

The difference between Rogue brand footpegs and the Assault Air Bike footpegs is that the Rogue Echo Bike ones actually spin. It’s a small thing, but a nice add on. The pegs are knurled, so your sneakers will grip on tight.

The seat goes up, down, backward, and forward. You can get into any position and make yourself comfortable regardless of your size.

The seat is the same as you get on the Schwinn Airdyne Pro. The seat isn’t everything, but I would have LOVED to have seen Rogue’s take on designing a seat.

Lastly, the monitor is great in that every metric you want to track is measured. Target, calories, intervals, heart rate- it’s all here.

Like the Assault Air Bike, it has quick choose buttons located on the right side of the monitor, and you will have no trouble using it as you go about your workout.

Pros and Cons

Now I will go through some pros and cons of this bike-even though I really love this bike, it’s important to look at ALL sides.

Pros

  • The bike is super beefy and great for athletes of all sizes.
  • Everything is made of metal, which makes for exceptional quality.
  • The bike is powder-coated black and looks timeless.
  • LCD console has every metric you could ever want to track available.
  • The bike features a belt-driven system instead of chain-driven, leading you to quicker starts and stops and less maintenance work.
  • Rogue Fitness is a SUPERIOR brand when it comes to fitness equipment, and this bike has it all at a great price.

Cons

  • Bike is pretty big-this can be a problem if you are operating in limited space at your home or garage.
  • The belt drive is harder to push than a chain drive.
  • The price point is fair but may be out of reach for some.
  • I think Rogue could have made their own seat instead of using the Schwinn seat.
