Try These Home Gym Equipment Ideas For The Ultimate Home Gym!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the current world climate dictates…well…social distancing.
Unfortunately, this means that we cannot go to the gym.
Indeed, our world was turned upside down when world leaders stated that staying away from public places like our gyms, restaurants, and movie theatres were the way to end the current pandemic. So what is a person to do?
Establish your own way to work out, of course! And you can really get ripped at home. In fact, I find that working out at home is much better than the gym for a number of reasons.
I am a bit of a germaphobe and find that there are very real germs at the gym from other people. Hot spots, as quoted by Fitness Magazine , include free weights, locker rooms, yoga balls, even your own gym bag!
Yuck!
So what’s my point?
It is that you can establish a great home gym. It’s going to be an investment, but believe me, it’s going to be worth it, and it will pay you lifelong dividends!
It will be cleaner, open 24 hours, and works around YOUR schedule.

NordicTrac T Series Treadmill
A good run will get you feeling good for the rest of the day. This treadmill is a great basic foundational piece for your home gym. It is nice and quiet, thanks to the Smart Response Motor by Durx, which is great for hardcore runs or light jogs without waking everybody else in the house up.
It is compatible with iPods, and the treadmill can fold up after you are done working out if necessary. The OneTouch incline control lets you make the workout harder or easier.
There are also thousands of in demand workouts if you need a push in the right direction.
You will never get bored! There’s even LIVE interactive training too – a real person can help guide you through the workout, which will keep you inspired and working your hardest.
There is FlexSelect cushioning, which makes it easier on the knees than outdoor training, a ten year warranty on the frame, a two year parts warranty, and a one year labor warranty. Users up to 300 lb can work out on this treadmill.
Balance from GoYoga 7 Piece Set
Forget those germy yoga mats at the gym when it comes to doing chest flyes or planks-or downward dog, for that matter! It’s time to get yourself a quality yoga mat that is all your own, in a colour your love, and is easy to clean up.
This comes with the yoga mat, a carry strap to take it anywhere, 2 yoga blocks, a yoga mat towel, a hand towel, a stretch strap, and a knee pad.
You can choose a quarter-inch thick mat or a half inch thick mat. The yoga mat is designed for safety thanks to the slip resistant finish. You can easily wash the mat using soap and water, as it is designed with Moisture Resistant Technology.
I really like this mat because it helps those of us with bad knees get the cushion we need to practice yoga in a safe and comfortable way. The mats at the gym tend to get a bit thin thanks to all the other people lying on them.
Even the towels can just go right into the washing machine for easy cleanup.
Bowflex PR 1000
There are a few tiers of Bowflex equipment you can get here. I chose the $499 version, as it will be enough to get you looking toned and feeling strong without breaking the bank.
Depending on what you want, you can get one of the more advanced models, but this machine will get you sweating and help you build muscle.
This machine, the PR1000, offers over 25 exercises that will work the whole body. There is 200lbs of Power Rod resistance to keep your muscles working hard. The bench can even be set up to mimic a rowing machine, which is a great workout.
You can use the multiple cable pulley positions to switch up the angle of resistance and boost the effectiveness of your moves.
Setup will take a few hours, and at 210 lb of resistance, you are not going to be lifting super heavy.
But those of us that want to keep our muscles toned when the weather is bad or avoid the gym in favour of something more convenient; this is how you can do it!
Yes4All Doorway Pull Up Bar
Bodyweight training is one of the most efficient ways to get fit, and pull ups are a hard move to pull off! The good news is that you can train right in your own home to perfect this move, taking all the time you need to get the move just right.
This features heavy-gauge steel construction that will hold up through all your moves. The solid steel bar is covered in a back finish and will inhibit the growth of rust and corrosion. It supports up to 300 lbs.
You can really switch your grip up thanks to the five thick padded grip positions. The foam is nice and soft, and slippage will be prevented. You will work out your back, biceps, chest, arms, shoulders, and abs-and more! It’s a total body workout for under $30!
This will fit doorways from 28 to 33 inches wide.
Make sure to measure your doorway first – however, we are sure it will fit just fine! This is a fantastic and easy way to burn off calories, increase the size of your muscles in the back and the biceps, and of course, get that heart rate up.
Suspension & Resistance Training Kit
This is a best selling system that will get your whole body worked out! You can use this indoors or out, and it even comes with a workout guide to get you started.
The KEAFOLS system works on getting you set up with the seven basic moves, which are hinge, rotate, plank, push, pull, squat, and lunge. Once you get these moves down, it will be easy for you to move into more advanced movements, and believe me, it is harder than it looks.
You can workout anywhere, thanks to the two anchoring solutions included in the box. The locking loop gets your band to stay in place without fear of it slipping around.
The handles and foot cradles will keep you in place for a safe and effective workout.
This is the All In One product and gets you started with a tough but fun workout that will get you stronger and more flexible. You can anchor it to rafters, beams, or doors, or go outside and anchor it onto trees or poles- it’s all up to you.
Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Exercise Bike With Pulse
This is a great exercise bike that holds up to 300 lbs. Unlike those spin bikes at the gym, it is very easy to get on and off this bike, great for people who have mobility issues or are just learning how to use a stationary bike.
The LCD display is nice and large, and will show you the distance you’ve traveled, calories burnt, and your speed, plus your heart rate. The large seat is comfortable, which is a real blessing. Sometimes the gym bike seats feel super uncomfortable!
This bike is handy in that you can fold it up to make it half of its fully assembled size. It is nice and compact. The wheels make it easy for persons of all strength levels to pull around.
There is an eight level magnetic tension control system that lets the user choose the tension level to make it easier or harder depending on what type of workout you want to do that day.
There’s no better feeling than riding like the wind without leaving the comfort of your own home. Stationary biking is a great way to get a great workout in. Throw on your favorite music and burn those calories.
AmazonBasics Workout Bench

What’s not to love about a great workout bench? There are so many awesome things you can do with this flat bench! You can lie on your back and do chest flyes. You can actually do pushups off the bench if you are unable or do not want to get onto the floor. You can do dips off the edge of the bench. Or, you can do my personal favorite rows using the bench with one knee resting on it.
This is a great basic piece to add to your home gym, a foundational piece that serves many purposes.
The surface at the top is smooth PVC, which is easy to clean, and the durable steel tube frame allows persons of all weights to get a good workout in. It weighs just 24 lbs when fully assembled, so you don’t have to be a strongman to move this around.
Putting it together is very easy; users noted it took about 15 minutes to do so. With it being such a great price and easy to use, this is a must have when it comes to getting the most use out of your dumbbells.
Fitness Reality Commercial High Capacity Olympic Power Cage

If you have Olympic barbells, and you love to use them while working out, this is the cage I recommend. You can do 24 exercises in this cage, and the steel construction is the toughest I’ve seen in a while.
It holds up to 1500 lbs of weight capacity, so if you like to lift heavy, this is the way to go.
There are two adjustable dip handles, two 35 and a half inch dual mounted safety bars, plus a multi-grip chin up and pull up bar. You can make this cage even more advanced by adding on the optional lat pulldown bar if you like.
If you workout with a spouse, roommate, or other family members, there is space inside the cage for a spotter that promotes safety. You can also do wide stance squats in here with no worries.
Whether you want to get into squatting in the privacy of your own home or want a safe and sanitary place to do bench presses, dips, chin-ups, and more, this is going to be a strong choice to have in your home gym.
Synergee Regional Olympic 20 KG/15 KG Barbell

This bar is what you need to get started lifting. We all started out just lifting the bar, and that’s OK! I wanted to include this after I featured the squat cage a few moments ago.
You can shop for weight plates if you feel so inclined, but for those of us just starting out, this bar is perfect. The bar is constructed of high-grade steel. It has a 1500 lb weight capacity. There is a 1.2 mm diamond knurl, which gets you a good grip.
There are five needle bearings per sleeve. This will get you flexibility for weightlifting, but also the stiffness you need to pull off great squats, presses, and deadlifts.
This equipment piece is affordable and a great building block for those of you that want to lift heavy at home.
Two knurl marks per bar allow you to do Olympic or Power lifts. You can choose between two sizes depending on your gender or fitness level.
On top of the already great quality, you get a warranty for one year guarding against manufacturer defects.
AmazonBasics High Density Round Foam Roller
You’re not gonna have a great workout unless you come down from it the right way! After the cool-down and stretch, a good foam roller is a way to make sure muscle tension.
This was something we used to only see performed by pro athletes and elite Olympians, but the fact is, it’s good for everybody- and a foam roller definitely has a place in your gym.
This AmazonBasics foam roller is a nice way to release tension and pain in areas that tend to stay sore for you after you’re done working out. You can easily run this over large areas like the thighs and the back, too.
The foam roller works with your body weight to get the blood flowing and boost circulation to the soft tissue areas. The roller targets rigger points and provides a sort of therapy to improve your flexibility and increase your range of motion, all while lowering your discomfort and pain levels.
It is lightweight and easy to carry, so you can take this outdoors or anywhere else in the house you want to do your workout. The smooth surface makes it easy to clean with just a simple disinfecting wipe.

Power Guidance Battle Rope
One great way to build the arms and release stress is to use a battle rope. This particular model is nylon sleeve covered and is very durable in its construction. It will be able to withstand many years of wear and tear. The rope itself is made of dacron, which is a strong material.
The handles are soft and easy to grip, even if your hands are sweaty after working hard, you will still be able to hold onto the rope with ease. You can choose between 30, 40, or 50 feet lengths. Shorter lengths are ideal for those new with rope training.
Meanwhile, the longer lengths will challenge even the most seasoned gym veterans.
You will train the core, arms, back, and legs.
Reaction time, as well as your metabolism, can also be increased with the use of the battle rope. The longer your rope, the heavier it gets – and thus, the more challenging your exercise. You can use this rope inside or outside.
Nylon sleeves are covered as a means of protecting the rope against friction.
AmazonBasics Vinyl Coated Cast Iron Kettlebell

This is a great basic tool but a real winner when it comes to your training. You can choose 10, 12, or 20 lb. Kettlebells are super when it comes to agility, strength, and cardio workouts. You can improve your strength, stamina, and coordination with the use of this kettlebell.
You will enjoy dynamic workouts that are fun and interesting, challenging, but still very doable.
This particular kettlebell is made of solid cast iron and comes coated in vinyl, which makes it look nicer but also keeps it protected. The vinyl coating deters rust, lowers the noise generated by the tool, and keeps floors protected also.

Whether you’re doing halos or lunges, a kettlebell makes it easy to get into the “swing” of fitness.

This ball is nicely priced, comes in a variety of colors, and is anti-burst. Persons of larger size will find this ball to be a nice way to get into working out- users ranging in weights up to 400 lbs discussed using the ball with ease and comfort.

It’s recommended you do this because it will be far easier to get on and off of it, plus sit comfortably.
Arteesol Dumbbells for Women and Men
A great workout is made better with the right dumbbells! You can tone up or do fun aerobic workouts with these. They make great tools to hold in your hands while walking on the treadmill, doing jumping jacks, or even arm circles.
